Gary Soper is a qualified fitter welder who transitioned into the wastewater sector, working with various councils and council business units as a Plant Technician. He has served as the Trade Waste Officer at New Plymouth District Council for close to sixteen years, specialising in trade waste management.

Gary prioritises collaboration with industry to achieve effective outcomes for both consent holders and the Council while complying with the requirement of the Trade Waste Bylaw.
