Geoff Young

NZTIWF Immediate Past President, Board Member

Coming from an operational background, Geoff has been involved in Environmental Management for the last 36 years.   As the very first Environmental Officer in New Zealand Dairy Group back in 1991, Geoff was involved in major redevelopment of the Te Rapa site over 8 years.

In 1999, Geoff identified a need in the market for water and wastewater advice and left Fonterra to start BPO and for the past 26 years, Geoff has been advising primary processing industries on water measurement, management techniques and raw material utilisation.  His expertise has seen him work in numerous countries, including Venezuela, Chile, USA, Australia and New Zealand. As the Executive Director of GP2020 Holdings Ltd, Geoff works with a highly skilled team of Technicians and Engineers who all support the New Zealand Trade and Industrial Waters Forum.

Geoff’s extensive and rewarding career in an exciting and challenging industry, has provided the opportunity to give back by supporting new people coming into the industry and to lobby on behalf of the sector, a role in which he has taken pride. His role as the Immediate Past President is to provide advice to the Executive and the board is one he looks forward to fulfilling after spending 11 of the previous 14 years in the position of President.
