Teresa Reynolds

Teresa Reynolds is a Senior Trade Waste Officer with 18 years’ experience at Hutt City Council. After living in the UK for 20 years, 13 years at South Hams District Council (Devon, UK) she returned to New Zealand with her family in 2003 and joined Hutt City Council’s Trade Waste team in 2007. Starting as the admin/technical officer, she had on the job training under Gordon George (Life Member of the NZTIF) and has progressed to a senior position. 

Her role covers all aspects of trade waste from administration, compliance, enforcement, inspections, advising on Building Consents and LIMs. (The team provide Wellington Water with a smoke testing service for residential properties). 

Teresa believes in a customer focused approach: she works with industry/business partners to ensure compliance while maintaining a “firm but fair” stance and aims to “start with a smile and hopefully end with one” whatever the situation.
